 Micah Perkins has been in the mental health field for over 20 years and a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2001. In 2014, Micah completed requirement to become a

Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

He considers himself "eclectically Cognitive Behavioral" in that he draws concepts and techniques from many of the Cognitive Behavioral Therapies including Albert Ellis' Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, William Glasser's Reality Therapy, Aaron Beck's Cognitive Therapy, Steven Hayes' Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Marsha Linehan's Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

In addition, his approach is also heavily influenced by William Miller's Motivational Interviewing, Steven DeShazer's Solution Focused Therapy and John Gottman's Gottman Method

Micah firmly believes in the importance of adjusting one's therapeutic approach to each client rather than trying to fit each client into the therapeutic approach. 

Consequently, Micah teaches Candidates how to use

Feedback Informed Treatment developed by Scott Miller,  Ph.D. and Barry Duncan, Ph.D. to gain feedback from clients and to track progress
