Micah Perkins, M.S., L.P.C., L.A.D.C.

Micah Perkins LPC LADC

About me

I grew up in Oklahoma City but spent much of my young adult life in the military town of Lawton, Oklahoma. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology in 1995 and a Master's of Science in Behavioral Sciences in 1997, both from Cameron University.

I started working in mental health in 1994 and completed requirements to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2001 and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in 2014.

During my career I have worked with adults in a community mental health center, and children and teens in foster care and in a psychiatric hospital.

Since 2010, I have been honored to provide professional counseling to children, teens, and adults in Edmond, Oklahoma.

In 2014, I started the first Edmond Chapter of SMART Recovery and expanded my individual practice to include other mental health counselors, changing the name to Edmond Counseling & Professional Development.

In 2016, I was honored to be awarded "Counselor of the Year" by the Oklahoma Drug & Alcohol Professional Counselor Assocation.

In addition to counseling, I  have also had the pleasure of providing hundreds of hours of training to mental health professionals throughout the state of Oklahoma.

I have been married to my beautiful wife since 1994 and have two wonderful children. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and exercising.
