Amanda Beck M.A., L.P.C.

 I was raised in Oklahoma City as one of 4 siblings. In late high school I attended Francis Tuttle Technology Center where I studied Early Care and Education of Children and used my skills working with children as a launch pad for all my future work. From 2008-2018 I worked as a nanny for a wonderful family I am still in contact with today. During this time, I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Central Oklahoma where I worked as a teaching assistant and a research assistant, graduating in 2015.

In 2017 I went on to complete my graduate degree in Counseling Psychology where I worked on several research projects, worked in UCO’s counseling clinic as a student worker, and worked in ABA as a registered behavioral technician working directly with children who have Autism.

I graduated in 2020 where I began working at Edmond Family Counseling treating individuals from age 7 to adulthood. I worked at Oklahoma City Community College as well for a brief stent working primarily with young adults transitioning into college and adulthood.

I’ve worked with a diverse population with treatment focus in the areas of depression, anxiety related disorders, autism spectrum disorder, trauma, transitional issues, chronic pain, LGBTQA+ issues and support, transitioning from religion, grief, and more. My primary treatment modality is cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure therapy.

Client-centered evidence-based practice is very important to me and acts as the foundation to my clinical approach. I aim to support each person in whichever phase of their journey they may be on and wish to ensure I am utilizing the most appropriate clinical approach to meet their needs.

In my spare time I enjoy painting and crafting, playing games, spending time with my family, friends, and pets, traveling, and practicing yoga.
